I-485 Application Approved Following Transfer from Approved EB-2 Petition to Approved EB-1 Petition

Several years ago we had processed an EB-2 National Interest Waiver Petition on behalf of an Indian National conducting cardiovascular disease research which was approved. Our client had filed an I-485 green card application in the summer of 2007 when all employment based priority dates were current.

Following approval of the National Interest Waiver Petition we filed an EB-1 Extraordinary Ability Alien Petition on behalf of our client which also approved by the Immigration Service. Using the Texas Service Center’s special e-mail address, we requested that our client’s I-485 application be transferred from the EB-2 approved I-140 Petition to the EB-1 approved I-140 Petition with a current priority date. In response to our e-mail, the Texas Service Center transferred our client’s I-485 application and issued the green card.
